There are several types of Hypertrichosis, for example; Ambras Syndrome, Transient Congenital Hypertrichosis, and Persistent Hypertrichosis. They all have similar symptoms, but Ambras Syndrome is the most extreme. Hair is present at birth and stays for the rest of their life. Abnormal teeth, nipples and hexadactyly (additional fingers or toes) are common as well. With Transient Congenital Hypertrichosis, hair is present at birth but disappears in the child's infancy. In this case, the face, hands and feet are spared. Persistent Hypertrichosis is easier to manage, but the amount of hair increases in the child's infancy.
Hypertrichosis
Generally, Hypertrichosis is the overabundance of hair anywhere on the body.
